
Due to popular demand, here are extended highlights from the 'best ever game of Gaelic Football played in Texas'. Austin Celtic Cowboys defeated Dallas Fionn MacCumhaill on June 14 at Onion Creek Park by 4-16 to 2-19 in the first Texas Senior Final to require extra-time. Corkmen are to the fore on the scoreboard with Brucey Leary from Gortroe kicking the first point. Austin No 5 James Hennessy from Ballyhea scores the first goal, while No 14 James Casey and Colm O'Flynn (scorer of the last goal) are both from Charleville. Stephen 'Stan' Martin from Dowdallshill in Louth is the scorer of Austin's third and most spectacular goal, while Limerick man Brian Costello (Askeaton) kicks the last point seen on the video. Paul Donnelly from Bellaghy in Derry is the chief scorer for Dallas, claiming five points from play and frees, while No 15 Niall Bishop from Oram in Monaghan scores their second goal. The first Dallas goal is scored by No 5 Jose Cabrera, a Mexican who is married to Noreen Grant from Newcastle, Co Down.
